▞ Special Containment Procedure

SCP-D38813-A is to be kept in room AB45 at all times. Personnel entering the room may not bring any electronic devices, and all writing paper/pads/notebooks must be devoid of any information. Rooms within 20m of AB45 must also observe the same zero data policies (rooms AB40-48, as well as sequences AC30-AC33 above and DC7 bellow).

SCP-D38813-B is kept prone on a bunk in the same room, and does not need any maintenance.

Further testing on SCP-D38813-A is currently authorized, but all participants must report for daily psychological baselining.

▞ Description

SCP-D38813-A is a Playdate gaming console that presents a single game named SCP-D38813. That game contains a list of Foundation SCP articles that must be decoded by a human using the device's controls, before they become legible. Attempts to access the data directly through its USB port have failed. All available mechanisms to electronically access the data have also failed. Copying the cyphered data from the screen manually also produces incoherent data that cannot be decoded elsewhere. The device has not been observed to require any external power sources, and despite loss of proximity to data sources, has retained data previously observed on it. These attributes have been deemed desirable to the Foundation, as they potentially make it a secure place to retain unstable K-Class contingency data.

New data appears to enter the device by proximity. It was hypothesized that its initial cachet of data was obtained from a computer in an adjacent room. Subsequent testing has revealed that it has a range of approximately 20m. The mechanism for the data transfer is unknown, but radiation shielding has not prevented transfer. The device copies data selectively, all data decoded so far have been Foundation SCP articles. Note: it is currently unknown whether all articles on the device are SCPs, many articles remain to be decoded.

SCP-D38813-B is a human named Georgio Eliopoulos, who was discovered in a catatonic state along with SCP-D38813-A. Attempts to separate the two resulted in SCP-D38813-A emitting an escalating sound proportional to the separation distance, which ultimately knocked out nearby humans. Under long term observation, SCP-D38813-B has exhibited rapid eye movement at irregular intervals with a mean of 38 minutes, but otherwise showed no other signs of life. He does not breathe, eat, expell any substances, grow hair or nails.
